I finally got to learn some basic sewing in Sweden and this sewing machine cover was one of my mini projects. It was meant as a farewell gift for a dear friend. I learnt how to make it from this very easy to follow video tutorial by Vanessa from Crafty Gemini and made some modifications - additions of fabric flowers and ribbon, lining the cover and cutting a slit on the right for the wires to go through.
The mix of fabrics with different prints and patterns made the cover look really cute. This is also a great way to use up leftover fabrics too.
Once back in Singapore, I made two more sewing machine covers, one for my sewing machine and one for my mother-in-law's. We hardly have time for sewing and a cover will definitely come in handy in keeping out the dust.
Hey which is your favourite mix of prints and patterns here? If you are feeling crafty today and love to make yourself a cute sewing machine cover too, go check the video out!
